Research Interests
I am currently working on my PhD in English Studies with a focus on authorial subjectivity in Postcolonial literature. The authors I am focusing on are JM Coetzee and Salman Rushdie.

I am also researching the effectiveness of first level Academic Literacy offerings at UKZN, especially the Academic Learning in English module which I am currently coordinating and teaching.

Other Information
I have a great interest in the Portuguese language, in particular Brazilian Portuguese and its attendant literary culture and history. Although I have had very little opportunity to work professionally in this area, I am very willing to become involved in work on this relevant and interesting field.
